Origin & Course of Mula-Mutha River

Mutha River, fondly called Muthai (mother Mutha) in Marathi, begins in the Western Ghats near the village of Vegre. While Mula River starts at Muleshwar Devrai, a sacred forest in Mulshi, where a small stream near the Shiva temple is regarded as its source. Both rivers flow down from the Ghats and meet in Pune city, forming the Mula–Mutha River.
